Most experts recognize that hardwoods generally offer better burning firewood. The most commonly sought after woods tend to be oaks. However, not all oaks are create equally. In fact, you should make extra efforts to avoid getting white oak as it does not offer the same burning benefits as other oaks and other hardwoods. For this reason, be sure to ask around to avoid buying firewood with this type of wood or at least, make it as small amount as possible of your overall purchase.
