For most people, having a large screen TV and a hundred or so channels to watch has come to be regarded as essential.

It’s not uncommon for the average household to spend thousands of dollars on anything from a 42 LCD TV with surround sound up to a cinema projector system that wouldn’t be out of place at the local multiplex.

If you’re going to buy 3d TV or upgrade to a high definition set, though, your viewing pleasure is going to soon be diminished unless you take care of your purchase.

HDTV isn’t going to look as sharp as you’d like, if you’re watching through a layer of dust on the screen.

And your 3DTV set won’t continue to dazzle you if your toddler’s finger marks are all over it.

So do make sure that you clean your set regularly, with a soft, lint-free cloth and even some gentle cleaning solution that is geared for the job.

LCD screens can be easily gouged or scratched, even by fingernails, so they do require some TLC. A payday loan can help you get new 3DTV too.

Photo: wstryder

If you don’t want to buy specialist cleaning products, which do tend to be quite expensive, you can clean them with isopropyl alcohol – also known as rubbing alcohol – mixed with distilled water (never tap water, or you’ll get hard mineral spots on your screen).

You should dilute the rubbing alcohol with water, an equal amount of both, and pour the solution into a spray bottle that is capable of producing spray in a mist pattern.

Gently wipe the screen in a consistent circular motion, applying even pressure to the cloth.

Avoid using tissue paper, as it’s too thin. Some people use an old t-shirt as a cloth, which is absolutely fine as it’s best for the cloth to have a large surface area.

Which One Is Right For You?

For most folks, the idea of a steam carpet cleaner evokes visions of really deep, intense cleaning for all of their carpeted surfaces. Whether you need to purchase one for a large space or a small space, a residential area or a commercial area, for yourself or someone else, there are several essential factors that you need to consider when making this purchase. The purchaser will have high hopes that this appliance will last for many years to come. Therefore, make the most informed purchase possible and you will be spending your money wisely.

Photo: nlewis039

Your first consideration should be price. While a super low price may make you smile, you need to be aware that when it comes to steam carpet cleaners the phrase “You get what you pay for” really rings true. Try to set your budget somewhat mid-range and keep your expectations realistic. At the same time, bear in mind that this purchase will last for a long time and will prove to be a cost savings in the long run.

You will also need to give some thought to the size of the area that you intend to clean and whether the models you are considering purchasing can handle that space. The requirements for a retiree’s small apartment steam cleaner will be very different than the needs of an appliance for family home that houses eight individuals as well as a few pets. If you are looking to clean large spaces you will want a steam cleaning vacuum that has a larger boiler, holding up to 64 ounces of water, as well as one that has a stainless-steel or aluminum boiler. Boilers made of these materials, versus those made of plastic, will be much more durable and not likely to crack or leak.

You will also want to look for a model that is easy to set-up, operate, attach accessories and store away. For instance, those with a detachable boiler are much easier to fill and therefore you will spend much less time setting up your appliance each time that you use it. Nothing is quite as frustrating as being inspired to use a home appliance, only to be frustrated and turned off by how complex or cumbersome the process may be. In those cases, the appliance does nothing more than take up space in the home and is rarely actually used.

At the same time, make sure that any steam cleaning model that you are pondering is easy to maneuver throughout your home. This is especially true if you live in a two story home or a property with a basement. Also, you should see if the power button has a locked option so that you do not have to continuously hold the button as you operate the device. This, too, can be exhausting and frustrating.

If you are looking to clean a variety of spaces (e.g., stairs, outdoor carpeting) then you should see if the appliance has a variety of accessories that you can use for specialized cleaning. For instance, a hand-held accessory for small crevices such as those in stairs or a variable steam output setting for when you need less power.

A steam vacuum carpet cleaner is a wise investment for most homeowners. Not only will it make your living space cleaner and healthier, but it will definitely extend the life of your carpets. An appliance such as this may require something of an investment, but when compared to renting a unit or having the carpeting professionally steam cleaned, it turns out to be a real bargain indeed.

Cleaning your swimming pool is easier than ever these days due to the ever increasing amount of quality cleaning accessories. There are many tools to choose from, including skimmers, brushes, and vacuum heads. These tools make pool maintenance easier than ever, meaning that you can spend more time swimming and less time cleaning. The biggest aspect to keeping your pool nice and clean is to make sure that the care of your water is always up to date.

There are many water care products that you can buy, including balancing chemicals, sanitizes, chemicals to treat algae, stain treatment products, water testing kits, and saltwater systems. The more specialized tools that are used to clean swimming pools include leaf skimmers, leaf rakes, brushes, corner brushes, pool sweeps, grids and cartridges for the filter, motors and pumps, pool filters, and many more. Most of these accessories are a must have, especially for those who have trees around their pool.

Leafs in the water can be very annoying and distracting, and should be removed on a frequent basis. Normally, chlorine is used as a sanitizer, as it helps to get rid of and prevent any organic material that exists in the water. By using chlorine in your pool, you will greatly reduce the load that organic material puts on the filter. The regular maintenance of your pH balance and the right levels of alkalinity are also very important to keeping your pool clean. You should also make sure that you check your calcium as well. The pump that you use is also important, as it will prevent the waste of energy.

To make things easier on yourself, you can get an automatic pool cleaner that will do just about everything for you. To get the right amount of chlorine feed, you’ll need to use hand feeding or tablet feeding. This will ensure that you get the right amount of chlorine in the water. There are saltwater chlorine generators out there as well, which are one of the most popular ways to get the right amount of chlorine in your water. Chlorine is also important for protecting skin, although you should try not to swallow water that has chlorine in it.

Keeping your water clean is also healthy for your skin, and anyone else who gets in your pool. As long you use the proper cleaning supplies and products with your pool, you’ll be able to enjoy fresh and clean water whenever you decide to go swimming. You can get a pool testing kit for a little of nothing – which will more than pay for itself when you decide to check your water. You should always make sure that you have cleaning supplies on hand, and check your water on a frequent basis.

Siding is the outer covering of a house to protect from the effects of weather. It may be formed of horizontal boards or vertical boards, shingles, or sheet materials. In all four cases, avoiding wind and rain infiltration through the joints is a major challenge, met by overlapping, by covering or sealing the joint, or by creating an interlocking joint such as a tongue-and-groove or rabbet. When the time go along. Their would be cleans.

Properly Cleaning Your Siding
By Kathleen Whitlow

Cleaning the siding on your home can be a tough job because of the fact that you don’t want to mess it up. You most likely paid a nice chunk of change for that siding to be installed and you should keep it looking as clean and as new as possible.

Photo: onlinetips.org

The most efficient means of cleaning your clean vinyl siding is to rinse it with the hose that you use to water your garden, grass, or flower beds. Make sure to use a nozzle on the hose and to not use high pressure when beginning to clean the siding. If you use pressure that is too high it could damage the siding. The water is also able to seep into the wood sheathing of framing of your home which could in turn cause water damage to the home.

Besides using a hose you can always use something that you have right inside your home to clean the outside of your home. Using the liquid detergent that you would wash your dishes with is another means of cleaning your vinyl siding.

You can use this in the same way that you would to wash a vehicle. Just get a large bucket, pour some of the soap into the bucket and then fill it with the water from the hose or with medium temperature water from your faucet inside of your home. Make sure to rinse the mixture off of the house when you have finished so that it doesn’t leave residue on your home. It is especially important to do this when the soap has been in the sun so that it doesn’t dry. This means that you should only work on small portions of the house at a time so that you can make sure to clean it properly.

When rinsing your home you should use the hose, and again make sure that it doesn’t spray at to high of a pressure on the siding. Point the hose towards the bottom of the house when spraying as well so that the suds and water can rinse downward.
