Exotic Wall Waterfall

Many people like water features, such as waterfalls, ponds, water gardens, streams, and bubblers for the serenity of them. The sound of running water is very relaxing. Many sound therapy alarm clocks have nature sounds on them to soothe and relax you. Included in those sounds, are the sounds of waterfalls, white water rapids, ocean waves and flowing streams. Water features have the same soothing and relaxing effect on us. That’s what makes them so popular.

They’re Everywhere, Want One?

It seems like everywhere you go you see water features, like waterfalls, streams and ponds in back or front yards or small, self-contained waterfalls or bubblers on a front porch or on a shelf in someone’s home. They’re in malls, parks, and in front of capital buildings. You can find water features just about anywhere you look, but how would you like to have a waterfall made of stone and granite on your wall? You could build one in your office to help you relax while you work, or in your bedroom for a restful night of sleep.

Build Your Waterfall

Granite can be quite expensive, but you could use tile instead. Depending on what kind of tile you get, it can be inexpensive, and rock, you can get for free if you don’t mind hand-picking every piece. Of course, you’ll need some cement, a water pump and a hose too. After putting a hole in the floor for a drain and a hole at the top of the wall where you want the waterfall to start, you would a run the hose between them. Make a hole in the wall somewhere beside the waterfall and place the pump in it. Connect it to the hose. Make a door to cover the hole in the wall for access to the pump. You would, then install the granite flat on the floor for the bottom of the pond and one piece standing on end all the way around it, to make the sides. Stack the rocks on top of the granite and on top of each other on the wall. Hold them in place with cement. Install a piece granite coming off of the wall flat with one rock above it and one below, so that it sticks out and creates a shelf in various places for more waterfalls. You could put other shelves in places where the water won’t hit them and place plants or candles on them. Also, place plants around the bottom for a more exotic look. It sounds simple, right? You decide how simple, or elaborate, it is going to be by the size and depth of it as well as the number and placement of the shelves.

Conclusion

We see different water features everywhere we go. We enjoy the way they look, sound and make us feel. If we decide we would like to have one at our house, we may find most of them to be very complicated, but we can make them simple if we just take the time to look around and see what’s out there.
